Organs of examination: 

  • Liver, pancreas, gallbladder, common bile duct and spleen 

Preparation: 

  • Wear loose, comfortable shirt or clothing. Fast at least 8 hours before scanning. Only clear oral fluid is allowed.

Aim: 

  • To check for the diseases such as fatty liver disease,  liver cirrhosis, gallbladder stones, liver cancer, hepatitis, pancreatitis. Lesions such as tumors, abscesses or cyst of liver or spleen may be seen on the scanning. Also to identify the cause of jaundice/ yellowing of skin.
  • Suitable for people with high cholesterol, overweight, obesity, diabetes, hypertension, or family members that have such problems.
