  • Deep vein and superficial vein of lower extremity such as femoral vein, popliteal vein and perforators and saphenous vein
Preparation : 
  • Wear loose, comfortable shorts. You may be asked to change into a gown prior to scanning. 
Aim : 
  • The examination is to search for blood clots in the veins (the condition referred to deep vein thrombosis) that cause pain and swelling in the lower leg, redness or discoloration of the skin. It also helps to identify varicose veins and assess the function of the venous valve.
